Deen De Bortoli created his Vat Series with the idea of developing a range of delicious, full-flavoured wines at an affordable price. Deen personally selected the blends and chalked the numbers on the vats to identify them. The Vat Series includes traditional varietal wines and also wines made from interesting, newer varieties to Australia.

"Not bad value, it has to be said. Sunny flavour. Clear varietal character. Tastes of pear, peach and wood spice. Mid palate has a fruit sweetness to it but it finishes dry. Perfectly pleasant and appealing. Excellent value."86 Points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, September 2014
"There is a new look to the labels of the Deen deBortoli range but the value for money remains the same: excellent. This series is named in honour of the family patriarch and this is a blend of 88 percent chardonnay, seven percent arneis, three percent sauvignon blanc and some sundry other grapes with a good portion of the fruit coming from the cool King Valley in Victoria. Soft with peachy and nutty notes this is a simple and lively easy-drinking style for enjoying in its youth."
