2013 is an exciting vintage for Sauvignon Blanc with terrific balance of flavour, texture and acidity. The wines are pungent but composed considering a relatively warm February.
- VIC - Yarra Valley
The one and only thing lacking from this wine is fruit intensity - everything else (region, blend, winemaking) is beyond criticism. So it will please many at this price, having more going for it than pinot gris anywhere around this price. Rating 86 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (SEP/2014).
Winery Tasting Notes
Medium straw colour with green edges.
Hints of gooseberry, slightly grassy and funky, some creaminess.
Fresh tropical fruit flavours, herbal and grassy flavours, soft acidity.
A pair to grilled whiting (or any nice white fish fillet).
