The Steading is composed from the traditional Barossa cultivars of Grenache, Shiraz & Mataro. It has long been a favorite wine within the Torbreck stable because of the old, gnarled ‘bush vines’ that produce its core.

Medium garnet in color with a purple rim, the 2012 The Steading (a blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro) has a beautifully open nose of kirsch, mulberries and black raspberries with white pepper, dusty earth and Chinese five spice suggestions. Full-bodied and yet wonderfully poised in the mouth, the silky tannins and refreshing acid support the generous flesh throughout the long, spicy finish. Rating 93+ - Drink by 2022, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (JUN/2015).
Winery Tasting Notes
Deep ruby with flickers of violet.
It displays delicate aromas of truffle, five spice and spring flowers are supported by a rich core of liquorice, saddle leather and Provencal herbs.
Very "Burgundian" in style, the palate is elegant and pure with subtle notes of crushed cherries, earth and cedar all neatly wound by a taut spine of acidity and ripe supple tannins.
