Expert Reviews

Medium red-purple; the bouquet offers sweet cassis berry fruit and subtle oak flowing on well into the attractive, sweet redcurrant-flavoured palate. Soft tannins and gentle oak add to the appeal; significantly better than the 1999 Bin 389.Rating 90 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (OCT/2001)

Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep crimson, with a purple edge.

Aroma

Dusty cranberry and blackcurrant varietal aromas heightened by a dash of spicy oak. Background aromas of lightly steamed broccoli, blackcurrant and fig.

Palate

Varietal flavours of mulberry and blackcurrant flavours overlay minty chocolate meshed with cedary oak. Savoury, angular cabernet tannins combined with structural tightness induce a perception of inkiness that should mellow with maturity.
