Good hue; blackberry, blackcurrant, earth and dark chocolate all coalesce on the medium- to full-bodied palate, which has outstanding texture and structure, oak and tannins precisely controlled; 20 years cellaring suggestion on front label seems remarkably modest. Magnum.

Winery Tasting Notes
Hewitson wines set apart from others is their predominately dry-grown vineyards dating back to the 1800's have very deep root systems. These roots in some cases go down ten metres into the sub soil. These vines have their own biological clock and it is of little consequence what is going on around them above the earth. Their drive is sourced from the nutrients and water derived deep underground.
