Glaetzer `Nefertiti` Shiraz 2002 (6 x 750mL), McLaren Vale, SA.

This wine is pure Barossa: blackberries, fruitcake, chocolate and spice are just some of the delights this wine has to offer. The palate is rich and opulent, and the tannins are characteristically soft.

Expert Reviews

'Ripe, rich, round black and red fruits; chocolate, mocha and vanilla overtones; soft tannins. From 80-year-old vines. Stained cork.' Rating 91 - James Halliday - Review published on 20 Jul 2011

'Cool, dense nose with great roundness of texture yet real energy and life. Savoury finish. Bristling with potential. Really animated fruit, much of it from fabulous early 20th century vineyards in Ebenezer, in the northwest of Barossa Valley, flanked by vineyards that supply Grange. Yields are about half a ton an acre.' Jancis Robinson - Review published 04 Oct 2005

Winery Tasting Notes

Father and son team Colin and Ben Glaetzer have made quite a splash in the Australian cult wine market.

Before establishing his own label in 1985, Colin Glaetzer built an illustrious career as a winemaker at Tyrrell's, Seppelts and Barossa Valley Estates, where he created the revered Barossa Valley Estates E & E Black Pepper Shiraz. Colin and his winemaker son Ben have a shared philosophy. Both firmly believe that great wines are made in the vineyard. Their belief in the terroir and an understanding of the ancient dry-grown vineyards in the renowned Ebenezer district of the Barossa is evident.
