Winery Tasting Notes
Willunga 100 Grenache 2014: Bright lifted and intense floral aromatics in a deliberate red fruit spectrum, show a typical style of straight McLaren Vale Grenache. A great texture and richness from the lees aging and oak maturation harness the fine sandy tannins.
Mt. Langi Ghiran `The Gateway` Shiraz 2013: Blackberries and red cherry notes, with perfumed spices of cinnamon and cloves.Boysenberry, mulberry and blackberry fruits form the vibrant core of this wine. Delicate notes of spices are complimented with powdery, cocoa like tannins, creating a luscious wine with amazing balance and length.
Carbunup Crest Cabernet Merlot 2006:This wine has aromas of blackcurrant, licorice and dark cherry.
Exhibits lifted flavours of black olive, prune and plum with a touch of cinnamon and elegant silky tannin. The wine has good length and a balanced finish complemented by twelve months in oak barrels.
Butler Crest Cabernet Sauvignon 2014: Displays aromas of glazed cherries, vanilla pod and subtle French oak toast.Bright red fruit, freshly roasted coffee and elegant interwoven cedar tones introduce a focussed, mineral palate. The finish is persistent and elegant boasting ripe coating tannins and a fresh blueberry afterthought.
Steve Wiblin’s Erin Eyes Malbec 2013: Aromas of rich berry flavours with mocha and chocolate.Generous and luscious blackberry and raspberry fruit characters. Excellent firm tannins with a long and lasting finish. Drink with any food. Just wonderful!
Oceans Estate Cabernet Merlot 2009:The palate is of medium to full weight and shows blackcurrant, strawberry, black cherry and some mint chocolate. The tannins are well integrated and the palate is dominated by sweet fruit. The oak is subtle, and the wine has a clean finish.
