For our first varietal Mataro, we selected fruit form a 40 year old Gawler River vineyard. The old wines have provided us with a quality ripe fruit to work with. Aerate extensively before drinking.
Please note the Pirramimma 'Eight Carat' Mataro 2013 was bottled on 27th June 2016, thus the wine will have “Bottle Shock”. We recommend the wine rest and recuperate between 3 -5 months before consumption. Please aerate extensively before drinking.

Winery Tasting Notes
The wine displays a bouquet of rosemary, spicy plum relish, smoked game, bramble, with hints of leather, menthol and lavender.
On the palate the wine shows spicy red currant, blackberry, black olives, dried prunes, with a seam of black and white pepper, all enveloped by firm dry tannins and balanced cedar and vanilla oak. This medium bodied complex wine, will need to be consumed with food.
